HERO4HERO Project is a group formed by Flight Attendants who use their days off from flying to travel to various military hospitals and military housing to lightly renovate rooms that are not mandated for current renovation. These rooms usually include family waiting rooms outside surgical units where families of fallen warriors spend long hours awaiting news from within the surgical unit. Sometimes the work involves adding new items to a current room such as furniture or plants, to make it a more comfortable environment for the families. Other times it involves adding a 'Kid’s Corner’ to a family waiting room to occupy the children during those same long hours. We add colorful children’s furniture, books, wall graphics, games and toys to keep the kids busy! We plan to evolve into a nationwide program which will continue the same efforts currently underway at the military hospitals but at a local VA or Fisher House.

Fisher House provides housing for families and wounded warriors who require rehabilitation, but not hospitalization, or allows families to stay together with their warriors at little or no cost to them. Our expanded program will include a Flight Attendant who will supervise a group of volunteers gathered from a local school, sorority, fraternity, church, business or charity group to lightly renovate a room or add a “Kid’s Corner” to an existing building. As we move forward, all light renovations or additions will be an identical package unless necessary alterations are needed for a specific location.
